Everyone loves our adorable Monkey logo and we've been asked how it
was created!  This logo has a very special meaning to our Organization
and represents looking up, instead of down, and never taking life for
granted. In addition, the monkey represents children, who we all know can
act like monkeys with their climbing, running, and silly ways.

We haven't named our monkey yet, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have
special meaning.  This monkey was first created by Frank J. Lillig, Jr.,
Father of Co-founder David Lillig.  Frank started drawing this monkey back
in the 1950's.  When grandkids were born he started drawing it on cards
for the kids.  It became his signature and everyone smiled when they saw
it.  It represented the humor he brought to all of our lives.  When our
daughter, Ashley Lillig, was born and we were told she had cancer, Frank
started drawing this monkey looking up at a star.  We never really
discussed it, we just kind of knew that he meant for her to always look up
towards heaven, instead of down.

Frank J. Lillig, Jr.
Sadly, Frank passed away in October 2002, shortly after Ashley finished
her chemotherapy and was declared in remission.  We already had
scheduled a huge Off-treatment party and the theme was "Reach for the
Stars".  We feel children who have battled cancer can do anything in life!
When Cancer Warriors was brought into existence we wanted a special
logo and want our web page to bring a special happiness across to those
who view it. This monkey was meant to be, so we approached Sandy,
Frank's wife, and she happily agreed that Frank would want us to use this
logo.

We hope one day to not only have a name for this adorable monkey, but
to bring it to life in stuffed animals and other items, that can be purchased
or donated.
